"This hostel was a great introduction to Cambodia! The staff were super friendly and helpful and there were loads of activities going on every night. There is a huge social space which is great for hanging out with friends or working/ digital nomadding. There were also 2 pools for hanging out at during the day. You could basically stay in the hostel and have everything you need if you wanted but it’s also a short walk away from the market and pub street which are both great places to explore. Only downside was the aircon wasn’t so strong. I think they were fixing it though as a workman came in."
"De beste locatie in de afgelopen jaren. Ruime, schone kamers in een mooie omgeving. Midden in de stad alsof je in de natuur zit. Dicht bij het centrum en toch stil.
, uiterst vriendelijk personeel, goede service.
Sala Lodges in the enchanting city of Siem Reap is nothing short of a hidden gem that boasts not only of charming aesthetics but also of exceptional service that made our stay unforgettable. Nestled quietly away, this hotel provided a tranquil retreat that was much needed during our travel.
The service at Sala Lodges was commendable, embodying the true spirit of hospitality. The staff were attentive, approachable, and consistently willing to assist us in organizing our trips around Siem Reap, making the overall experience hassle-free and enjoyable. A special shoutout to the Swiss owners who were genuinely amiable and made us feel warmly welcomed.
As for the accommodations, the rooms in Sala Lodges were a delightful surprise. Each room bore discrete charm with its tasteful decoration, seamlessly blending traditional and contemporary elements. The authentic Khmer old houses are full of charm, yet modern and well preserved.
The hotel’s kitchen offered a menu that might seem simple at a glance but was satisfyingly delightful upon tasting. Every dish we tried was prepared well, with fresh ingredients and flavors that are comforting yet exciting to the palate. The breakfast, in particular, deserves an extra note of praise for being consistently good, providing a delightful start to our days of exploration.
Adding to the hotel’s allure was the inviting swimming pool, serving as a refreshing sanctuary after a day of touring the magical temples and vibrant markets of Siem Reap. During the wet season, the atmosphere around Sala Lodges was even more calming and soothing, with the soft sound of rain providing a comforting backdrop to our stay.
To sum it up, our experience at Sala Lodges was nothing short of magical. From the excellent service to the beautifully appointed rooms and delightful meals, every aspect of the hotel contributed to a stay that was serene, comfortable, and absolutely enjoyable. Whether you’re traveling in the wet season or not, Sala Lodges offers a cosy retreat that will surely enhance your Siem Reap adventure. Highly recommended!
KKhendyนี่เป็นครั้งแรกที่ฉันเข้าพักที่ The Royal Family Suite by Memoire Palace Resort and Spa
TThe shark chanOverall, I am VERY happy that I’ve chosen this hotel. The hotel service was worth much more than what we paid.
They have a free pick up/ drop off service from the airport (no drop off service provided by the hotel staff after 9pm, the airport closes during night). When I sent an email to the hotel to make a reservation for the pick up service, they gave me a polite and nice reply which made me feel excited meeting hotel staffs.
A nice hotel staff was waiting for us at the arrival gate. There was no SIM store in the airport and we asked him to take us to the SIM store in the city. The SIM card we got cost $10 for 6 days with plenty of data. The airport is only 15min away from the hotel but the staff told us that there will be a large new airport soon which is about one hour away from the hotel.
Once we arrived, hotel staffs welcomed us by saying “Welcome home”. We arrived at the hotel around 9am and they offered us a complimentary morning coffee. Since then I’m a big fan of Cambodian iced coffee.
They allowed us to check in early and even upgraded our room, which was the perfect start of our one week stay at this hotel. Ms. J at the reception is a professional and very supportive throughout our stay. She explained to us about the city, the tours offered by the hotel etc. In the beginning, I was full of anxiety exploring the city alone with my female friend, but the tours and Tuktuk drivers provided by the hotel were reliable. Especially cooking class and the dinner show are highly recommended. Sometimes it is cheaper to book via the hotel than via online travel agencies.
We loved the wonderful breakfast at the hotel. Ms. H at the restaurant is very lovely and friendly, we became friends immediately. Whenever we went to have breakfast, she was very supportive. They have a buffet as well as à la carte menu. Thé chef cooks omelette or noodles in front of you on request. There are so many different kinds of food to enjoy, so don’t worry if you are considering a long stay.
When you have a sunrise tour which starts in the early morning, they provide you lunch in a fancy box and an orange juice. My friend liked it.
The room was very clean. I didn’t complain but our bed sheets haven’t been changed (they only did bed making). I’m sure that they’ll change your sheets if you ask at reception. Sometimes I found a small insect but it was acceptable. They don’t provide water bottles, instead they give you water in glass bottles.
They have a lovely outdoor swimming pool. We enjoyed chilling on the swinging bed by the pool.
The massage at the hotel was reasonable and good for the price. I got Swedish massage for one hour, the therapist noticed that I’ve got problems with my shoulder. She tried her best to fix this.
The location of the hotel is perfect, easy to access the night market as well as pub street (10 min walk) and the museum. There is a Japanese restaurant in front of the hotel (I wanted to visit but didn’t have time) and there are some supermarkets and a shopping mall(?)next to the hotel.
I really appreciate everyone working at this hotel who made our stay wonderful. I’ll definitely come back to this hotel when I get another chance to visit Siem Reap again. I highly recommend you to stay in Memoire D’Angkor Boutique Hotel.
RRohitOverall a nice stay. Rooms are spacious with a large king bed. The bathroom can be bigger, its very compact. Breakfast had less choice for vegetarians.
A bit far from the market and pub street but tuk tuk are available
